So allow me to explain about On-Ramp. On-Ramp is a structured, hands-on series of 7 classes that we have designed to safely and efficiently introduce and integrate anyone, of any age or ability (really!) into starting CrossFit with confidence. The class is led by a coach, (9 times out of 10 it is Nick) in a setting only with other people just like you who are starting from scratch. The sessions are structured and build on each other as you progress through the skills learned. For this reason, your attendance is very important. It's a class, and you are paying for (most of) it, just like college, so you'd better show up!
We understand that life happens, and we will allow one class to be missed, but after that, you will need to schedule a private make-up session to continue ($10 fee). After "graduating" from On-Ramp, you will have the rest of the month, about 2 weeks, of unlimited opportunities to come to our "regular" classes, get to know the rest of your new CF610 family, and find our why we are so obsessed with this crazy thing called CrossFit. What am I saying? You will already have "drank the Kool-Aid" by this point. You laugh, but....
On-Ramp is designed with the following in mind:
- To get to know you personally and athletically.
- Asses your mobility and flexibility and determine plans to improve those for you as well as accommodate you in training.
- Gradually prepare you for the intensity of the workouts of our regular classes.
- Teach the movements we use in CrossFit.
- Make sure you are safe and confident when you are ready to join our regular classes.
- Answer any questions you may have regarding workouts, recovery, mobility, etc.
- Get to know us, our community and our program!
What can you expect in a typical On-Ramp session? Well it IS a class. We won't make you take notes, but if you are into that, by all means go for it! There will be talking/ explaining, some writing and doodling on the whiteboard- we are serious when we say we want you to know your stuff! There will be a warm-up, hands-on skill work and review, a workout, and a cool-down. Expect each class to last right at an hour, come prepared with water and make sure you drink plenty before hand.
Keep in mind that On-Ramp is for anybody, and that is why we require it for EVERYbody. It doesn't matter if you have gone to Gold's Gym every day for the past 10 years or if you have never set foot in a gym. It doesn't matter if you are 16 or 60. Workouts can be scaled and most injuries or physical limitations can be taken into consideration as well. All we ask is that you are motivated, stay positive, and keep truckin'. It will take hard work. It will take commitment to make it to all 7 of the classes. It will take time and patience to reach you goals. But if you have motivation, drive, patience, and a good attitude- then you've got what it takes and you will LOVE CrossFit 610!
